General Election Sample Ballot
The Presidential Primary is the only Primary where Federal Law requires the voter to state a party preference when voting in that election. Absentee Ballots are available. Requests may be made by phone ( 802-685-4460 ), email ( town.clerk@chelseavt.us), in person or through the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page.
The Vermont Primary Election is August 13, 2024. The Polls open at 9 AM and close at 7 PM. Please contact the Town Clerk for an absentee ballot if needed.
The Town of Chelsea Town Meeting is a hybrid meeting of Australian Ballot voting for Public Questions and Elected Offices ( polls are open from 9 am to 7 pm) and an in-person Town Meeting to vote a budget. Town Meeting is held the first day of March. A Consent of Candidate Form and Petition with 1% (10 signatures) must be filled out and submitted to the Town Clerk by 5 PM January 29, 2024. First Branch Unified School District Meeting is an in- person vote.
State and Federal Elections – Polls open at 9 AM until 7 PM. Absentee ballots may be requested in person, by phone at 802-685-4460, by email at town.clerk@chelseavt.us or by going to https://olvr.vermont.gov.
March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary – persons must request a ballot by party as required by Federal Law.
